Agios Georgios Selinari Monastery
The monastery was relatively recently established, during the 20th century. During the same time, its building complex was developed in two levels. At its eastern end, we stumble upon the small old chapel of Agios Georgios, while to the west there are newer buildings and two newly built churches dedicated to Theophania and the Resurrection. The church of Agios Georgios is already since the early 20th century an important religious center of the wider region, especially as a protector of travelers in Eastern Crete.
