A famous festival which takes place in the village of Kroustas in honour of the almond. In the broader area of Mirabello, the almond has always been a traditional product. However, in recent years its cultivation has diminished significantly. Kroustas is one of the few places where almond production remains strong. The Almond Festival is organized every summer (usually in the first half of July, there is no fixed date as it is not linked to a religious celebration) in the courtyard of the school and, once again, top Cretan musicians perform live.
