Climbing

The area, due to the imposing rocks that cover a great part of the prefecture’s surface, is ideal for climbing. The best starting point is the climbing field of Peza.

It consists of 4 rocks (Minoas, Talos, Istronas, Panas) and is located 12 km outside Agios Nikolaos, at an altitude of 300 meters above sea. It is an important field in sports climbing in Crete, with a network of routes ranging from 15 to 30 meters.

The field is unique, as the panoramic view to the bay of Mirabello and the Lasithian mountains is breathtaking. The beautiful wild nature that surrounds it offers visitors a different perspective.
